Your Next Challenge
This is a hybrid role combining the strategic insight of a Business Analyst with the delivery focus of an Agile Product Owner, responsible for shaping and delivering client-centric capabilities for the US Bank initiative. The role involves end-to-end ownership of product development and delivery, from defining business needs and product requirements to managing the product backlog, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring successful implementation. It requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of client journeys and operating models, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions. The individual will work cross-functionally with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery of technology solutions that align with the bank’s regulatory and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Capability Ownership
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including clients) to define client or business needs
- Maintain, refine, and prioritise the backlog of features with stakeholder input.
- Define and document the product capabilities and requirements that deliver the target value proposition to the client.
- Be a customer advocate throughout the development process.
- Identify and triage issues requiring resolution to deliver the product or enhancement.
- Influence others or take actions necessary to meet product launch objectives.
- Work with stakeholders to define and measure product success metrics.
- Work with Product, Sales, and Marketing to support value proposition definition.
- Analyse and document critical decisions and assumptions for socialisation and validation with stakeholders.
- Provide SME support to aspects of the program related to these responsibilities or past experience.
- Contribute to the development of the team and its members and support/coach junior members of the team.
- Escalate key risks or roadblocks for support to resolve them.
- Compile activity reports covering outcomes/delivered milestones, upcoming priorities and actions and next steps to stakeholders
Business analysis:
- Conduct interviews with clients and stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
- Write user stories and clarify functional and non-functional requirements for development teams and vendors and conduct reviews for sign off.
- Define the target operating model, journeys and personas to support solution requirements.
- Ensure all non-technical deliverables necessary for launch—such as documentation, governance, and compliance artefacts—are completed to a high standard.
- Run discovery sessions and workshops with internal and external clients.
- Maintain a current documented overview of related projects.
- Work closely with the Product team, business, IT Program Manager, development team, and other stakeholders to define the solution.
- Work with technology developers, engineers and third-party vendors to configure and develop the solutions, as SME on business requirements
- Maintain business standards for business analysis and overall product solutioning and design.
- Assist in the creation of test plans.
- Support the business/product manager with internal governance steps (e.g., NAPA).
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, log them appropriately, and take action to minimise impact.
- Create or maintain product/project collateral and documentation.
- Organise and lead showcases with business stakeholders.
- Identify scope for change and analyse the impact and risk of change requests.
- Work with and support other members of the Business Analyst team.
- Conduct or provide input to post-launch review
- Other initiatives and actions as directed or required to meet business outcomes
Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience with Agile product delivery and business analysis within complex projects and programs
- Knowledge of IT systems, business processes and product development processes
- Experience in a financial services organisation, especially transaction banking and payments
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
