Mgr, Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps
Designs, develops and maintains underlying systems and processes required to support software platforms
In concert with platform development teams, is responsible for the overall technical design and operations of platforms
Develops and maintains internal software, implement tooling that empowers efficiency for platform development teams, and automates manual operations, support and deployment tasks
Ensures continuous, high velocity delivery and automated deployment through the use of software provisioning, configuration management, source code management and/or team collaboration applications
You will be accountable to:
•Lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers on complex projects and responsible for the uptime of internally critical and externally visible systems.
•Manage end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
•Ensures optimization of existing systems, builds infrastructure and eliminates work through automation.
•Lead by example, care for the team, and establish credibility with the quality of the teams' technical execution.
•Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Moneris' services through the use of their expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large scale system design.
•Lead automation processes that are enterprise wide from code delivery to deployment.
•Lead and drive best practises for the enterprise by colaboratively working with the development and infrastructure teams.
Your experience includes:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
•Experience in software development in one or more applications
•Experience managing an engineering team on projects with technical dives into code, networking, operating systems, and/or storage.
•Preference given to those with proficiency working with algorithms, data structures and production troubleshooting.
•Expertise in problem solving and analyzing large-scale systems.
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and sell the senior leaders within the technology organization on your technical vision.
•5 years of technical leadership and people management experience.
•Demonstrates passion and ability to inspire others.
