Platform Support Analyst
We are expanding and modernizing a number of technology operations tools and services and are seeking an experienced Platform Support Analyst to join these exciting efforts.
The Application Platform Support Analyst has accountability for providing 24x7/ 365 production support to manage the daily operations, availability and reliability for a number of vendor and/or in-house built software platforms with focus on File Transfer Services.
Provide both active and on-call 24x7/ 365 production support to the vendor and/or in-house built software platforms, with a focus on file transfer services.
Investigate production issues managing through to resolution independently or in-collaboration with incident management teams.
Coordinate and lead database/infrastructure/telecom and other support teams as required to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex support issues beyond the immediate application code and server infrastructure.
Solve immediate application problems through configuration changes, data modification, server commands, or other methods as required. Executes a variety of documented and ad-hoc solution options independently. For more complex application issues, helps identify the root cause of problems and remediates them.
Schedule and execute platform implementations including configuration and scripting/execution tasks. Work with change management, platform management, and the other teams to manage impacts and communication. Routinely executes deployments of all complexities with minimum supervision or assistance. Actively consults and team lead and other support members team in the creation of deployment or deployment strategies.
Pro-actively schedules and executes disaster recovery procedures on a regular basis. Identifies and implements opportunities to streamline and improve procedures and reduce the potential for downtime.
Install, test and deploy application server software and related components in support of platform evolution and application changes. Lead initiatives to perform infrastructure (including application certificates) and application server software upgrades/patching to keep currency.
Provides input to the design of new application software changes that improve the reliability or operational efficiency of the platform
Create and/or install scripts, support programs, monitoring utilities, and other auxiliary software to monitor or improve the operations of application software. Design and develop frameworks and common processes and tools to use on multiple platforms.
Create and maintain process and/or troubleshooting documentation in the support knowledge base including disaster recovery plans. Maintain records of third-party end-of-life dates for software and work with other teams to ensure currency. Maintain records of software licenses and renewal dates and license keys.
Education, Designations & Qualifications
Degree or diploma in information technology, system administration, information systems management, or similar disciplines and/or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting and managing both in-house built and vendor applications with a focus on file transfer services.
Proficiency in basic administration and operation of Linux, Windows, and/or z/OS operating systems as appropriate for the platform through education, certifications, and/or work experience.
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking and network infrastructure components.
Proficiency in multiple scripting languages including Bash/Sh, PowerShell, Windows Batch, Perl, Python, or others.
Proficiency in database technologies such as MSSQL.
Proficiency in multiple file transfer protocols as SFTP, Connect Direct, REST, and SOAP APIs.
Experience with application and system monitoring and management tools including, building custom modules and adapters.
Knowledge of design, development, and configuration of web and server applications.
Proficiency in the operation of the Java Virtual Machine including application profiling, debugging, and performance management functions and tools.
Proficiency in eXtensible Markup Language [XML].
Experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator/File Gateway considered an asset
