The Senior Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for owning vendor and distributor relationships, leading promotional planning and allocation strategies, and driving continuous improvement across Supply Chain operations. This position serves as a key resource for stores, a project leader for the Supply Chain team, and a mentor to Supply Chain Analysts. This position is located in-office 5 days a week at our Central Store Support office (Rockville, MD).
- Product Availability: Collaborate/communicate with direct vendors and distributors to ensure products are available for store orders. Monitor supplier metrics and manage supplier performance to improve KPIs.
- Promotions: forecast key promotional items and follow up on supplier issues.
- Create allocation and replenishment strategies for promotions.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain/create/add insight to reports. Analyze/interpret data to influence decision making and escalation of topics. Complete ad hoc reporting as necessary to investigate various issues with ordering or vendor performance. Identifies trends, patterns, and anomalies found in big data sets by performing extensive data analysis to develop insights using statistical/analytical techniques and tools.
- Vendor Compliance: Analyze and hold vendors accountable to KPI reports, ensure items are set up correctly and follow up/influence vendors on performance/improvement, metrics and day to day issues (ex. late trucks).
- Meetings & Business Reviews: Own and lead routine vendor and distributor meetings. Set meeting agenda, present KPI performance, drive vendor accountability, and escalate strategic issues to the Director of Supply Chain as appropriate.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams to develop new tools and SOPs to increase ordering/forecasting efficiency and reliability. Work with vendors/category management to resolve/escalate issues related to ordering issues and vendor performance. Work with vendors on new item forecasts, discontinuations, other item changes
- Communication: Troubleshoot and communicate with relevant parties around item and vendor issues. Serve as the main point of contact for stores on supply chain assigned categories (ex. Cold/Dry Grocery). Quick and accurate communication on recalls and quality topics
- Project Leadership: Lead key projects for the Supply Chain Team. Participate as needed in other department tasks and projects as directed (ex. New Store Opening, vendor projects)
- Team Development: Provide mentorship and developmental guidance to Analyst and Intern team members. Share subject matter expertise to support onboarding, skill-building, and succession within the Supply Chain team.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years previous buying, planning, or allocation experience, especially in the grocery industry
- 5+ years' experience in field or career
- Advanced experience with Google Suite and Excel (ex. Pivot Tables & complex formulas)
- Proficiency and comfortability working with procurement and reporting software (ex. Catapult)
- Excellent attention to detail, especially with data, reporting, and forecasting
- Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages, and operational impact
- Savvy analytical skills, including ability to easily manipulate data
- Ability to prioritize tasks that change frequently and manage unexpected demands while maintaining strong follow through
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentations) with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to influence vendors and hold them accountable
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment
The salary range for this position is $82k - $95k.
