We are seeking a self-motivated, pro-active results-oriented Fiber Business Development representative. This is a quota-based role with the expectation of achieving full quota after a 12-month ramp period. This role will focus on selling Mobilitie commercial services into the data center market and the hyperscale customers.  This role is strategic in nature and highly focused on the data center/hyperscale ecosystem. The candidate must have a strong background selling solutions to data centers and hyperscale customers.  This role will be expected to perform all business development activities including attending local trade shows, networking with local data centers, creating by selling in/to/and through the data centers.  The hyperscale accounts will be named and targeted and longer sales cycles with deep relationships will be required for selling the hyperscale accounts direct.  Quota will be measured as MRR (monthly recurring revenue) and achievement against the MRR target. 

This candidate is a resourceful, dynamic and creative self-starter with a proven ability to access new accounts.  Ideally this candidate will have an existing base of relationships to quickly build a funnel of opportunities.  This candidate will have the confidence and the ability to build trust quickly with new prospects.  Although this role will be selling primarily dark fiber and layer two lit services, the candidate will be working with complex solutions in a data center environment, and they should have the ability to understand customer networks and how Mobilitie services apply to solving more complex solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demand Generation and prospecting for new opportunities through cold calling, networking, and field visits
  • Field marketing efforts including promoting Mobilitie through local tradeshows, networking events, and cosponsored industry events
  • Funnel management and activity management using current Mobilitie CRM (SalesForce.com)
  • Relationship development with key decision makers across organizations
  • Lead presentation of customer solutions
  • Manage all aspects of customer relationship including all presales activities required to deliver a positive customer experience before installation including quote creation, order creation, order processing, and customer documentation

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10 years of experience selling network services/solutions specifically to the data center and hyperscale markets
  • Strong network and telecom knowledge and background
  • Current relationships with named hyperscale and data center accounts is preferred
  • Ability to build a business case and deal structure based on revenue and capital spend
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve monthly quota objective
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of Bay Area data center markets and their ecosystems
  • Experience in SalesForce.com preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
