About This Role
The VP of People and Culture will play a pivotal role in setting the direction for our People and Culture initiatives. They will be responsible for the growth, development, and success of Talent Acquisition, Learning & Talent Development, as well as the People Operations team. The VP will collaborate closely with Company Owners, the Executive Director, and Senior Leadership to align People and Culture functions with MN Custom Homes’ strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will embrace curiosity, positivity, and have an entrepreneurial spirit.            

On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include 
Strategic Planning & Execution
            
    

  • Identifying and developing MN Custom Homes’ strategic plan for the People and Culture function.
  • Executing core objectives for the People and Culture departments.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to create and drive initiatives.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments. 


Operational & Cross-Functional Performance            
    

  • Identify KPIs for the organization’s Human Resource and Talent Acquisition functions.  
  • Assess success and market competitiveness using data driven metrics.  
  • Lead initiatives related to total rewards, performance management, and change management.  
  • Oversee communication efforts to ensure transparency and employee engagement.  
  • Manage complex or escalated human resource concerns and ensure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures as well as State and Federal regulations.  
  • Maintain knowledge of Federal, State, and case law.  


Team Management            
    

  • Responsible for overall performance, growth trajectory, and achievement of business goals.  
  • Provide effective leadership to the People and Culture team, including coaching, development, and performance management.  
  • Participate in employee lifecycle activities such as interviewing, onboarding, training, mentoring, conducting weekly 1:1s, disciplinary actions, regular performance reviews, and offboarding.


What You’ll Need to Succeed
       
    

  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resource experience with a proven background in successful strategic leadership.  
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.  
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills; capable of mentioning, motivating, and guiding others.  
  • Expertise in change management methodologies and ability to drive organizational transformations.  
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee engagement strategies and ability to implement initiatives.  
  • Experienced in utilizing data-driven insights for decision-making and performance evaluation.  
  • Comfort with public speaking and conveying key organizational messages and values.  
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.  
  • Passion for working in growing, ambiguous environments.  
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, ensuring human resources practices and policies comply with legal requirements.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).  
  • Experience with Paylocity, Lattice, KornFerry, Cornerstone or related people software strongly preferred.  
  • Experience in developing and growing a Learning & Talent Development team preferred.

Hours & Compensation
This is a full-time position paying $170,000 – $272,000 + discretionary bonuses. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
