About This Role
The Quality Project Manager ensures residential construction projects meet quality standards by developing and implementing quality control plans and standard work, conducting inspections, leading audits, and providing assigned Project Manager with “punch list” of quality issues/opportunities to correct. This position will develop construction quality standards, audit schedules, assignments, monitor workloads and productivity, and quality of work.
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
- Develops, implements, and maintains quality control standard work that outlines procedures to ensure adherence to or exceeding project specifications, industry standards, and building codes, that will be used to develop punch lists and standard timelines for managing the punch list that aligns with the project timeline.
- Conducts quality control audits at various stages of the residential construction process, including foundation, plumbing to inspection, Millwork, and Electrical trim to complete, to identify potential issues and ensure that work meets quality standards.
- Identifies repeat punch list items and delivers training for the construction teams to address issues proactively versus reactively on the punch list.
- Partners with Procurement and Interior Design teams regarding supplier material qualities and subcontractor quality opportunities.
- Monitors compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Documents findings from inspections and audits, ensuring that all relevant information is readily available.
- Identifies and addresses with assigned Project Manager any issues that may compromise the project's quality.
- Trains Quality Project Managers in specialties regarding various build phases.
- Work cross-functionally with the MN safety team to include safety checks as part of onsite audits.
- Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to enhance construction quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Capable of mentoring, motivating, and guiding others toward both individual and organizational goals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills are necessary for working with construction teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- The ability to identify and suggest solutions to problems related to quality is essential.
- The ability to train and motivate construction teams on quality control procedures.
- The ability to accurately document findings from inspections and audits is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with Salesforce a plus.
- Proficient with construction scheduling software. Experience with Taskray is a plus.
- Experience with Bluebeam or related PDF editing software is a plus.
- Extensive experience working with and understanding contracts, plans, specifications, and residential building codes.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
- Ability to effectively multitask and juggle multiple, simultaneous demands.
- Extensive experience working with engineering, architecture, and other construction drawings.
- Ability to adopt MN processes and standards.
- Some fluency with Spanish (read/write/speak) is a plus.
What You Bring to MN Custom Homes
- Bachelor’s degree in construction science or construction management strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of residential construction management experience, residential construction inspector, private home inspector, or some combination of all or similar types of roles that had a focus on development of punch lists, quality, and building a high-quality home.
- Hands-on residential construction experience in some capacity is strongly preferred. Ability to demonstrate strong understanding of residential construction processes, building codes, and industry standards is required.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures is preferred.
- Experience conducting thorough inspections to identify potential issues is required.
- Certified Construction Quality Manager (CCQM) preferred.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather; this may include ascending and descending stairs and positioning oneself in various ways to inspect confined or difficult to reach spaces or areas.
- This position requires frequent use of a computer, including keyboard functions and visual acuity of 20 inches or fewer on a daily basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 60lbs occasionally with or without accommodation.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.
- Must be able to work in office Monday – Friday, within core business hours of 8AM-5PM
Travel & Vehicle Requirements
- Regular travel between job sites and/or the office is required
- Valid WA State Driver’s License
- Acceptable driving record & proof of vehicle insurance. MN must be listed as an additional insured party on the vehicle insurance

Hours & Compensation
This is a full-time position paying $99,855 - $149,782 (+ discretionary bonus). The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
