About This Role
The Director of Technology will spearhead transformative technology strategies that boost operational efficiency and elevate customer experience. You will oversee the entire technology infrastructure including system integrations and business process enhancements, all while advancing MN Custom Homes’ Generative AI initiatives.  The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong technical expertise, exceptional leadership abilities and be a strategic visionary with the ability to execute that vision.  If driving innovation and shaping the future of a cutting-edge home-building company sounds exciting, then this could be the role for you!
 
On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team and cultivate a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology vision and strategy aligned with company goals and prioritize creative approaches to solving the company’s largest challenges: productivity, operational excellence, and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Partner closely with CFO, executives, and department leaders to build an infrastructure that delivers actionable insights and drives informed decision-making across the company.
  • Manage overall team performance. Provide mentoring and coaching, guide long and short-term team and individual development, and inspire team alignment with the company’s overall goals, objectives, and core values.
  • Oversee the company’s technological infrastructure, ensuring systems are up-to-date, secure, and scalable to support both current operations and future growth.
  • Identify opportunities for business process automation and enhancements across departments to boost productivity, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Lead technology projects from conception through execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
  • Evaluate, cultivate, and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Research industry trends in emerging technologies, applying innovative approaches to business process automation, including the use of Generative AI.
Travel & Vehicle Requirements
  • Occasional travel to different locations could be required.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience including 5+ years’ experience at a senior level.
  • Broad experience managing IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale technology solutions securely and sustainably is required.
  • Expertise in Agile or Lean methodologies for product development, as well as experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives, driving operational improvements through technology, and enhancing business processes across various departments (e.g., construction, procurement, sales, and back-office functions).
  • Experience in harnessing automation and artificial intelligence to optimize business processes that drive a competitive advantage.
  • Develop, empower, and inspire employees to do their best work. 
  • Deep technical expertise, including software development, systems integration, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. 
  • Ability to simplify and bring structure to ambiguous or ambitious projects. 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and converse effectively at all organizational levels on technical and strategic matters. 
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business challenges and articulate imaginative, yet common sense solutions. 
  • Able to turn business problems into requirements and deliver outcomes.

Hours & Compensation  
This is a full-time position paying $170,100-$272,100 + discretionary bonuses.  The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
