About This Role    

The Construction Estimator plays a crucial role in building out budgets and cost standards relating to new construction at MN Custom Homes. You will collaborate closely with internal operations, effectively communicating externally with a knowledgeable and professional demeanor. Displayed proficiency in the world of construction development is reflected with prior knowledge in procurement. You will have the unique opportunity to expand the scope of this role by working with management over time.     

     

On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include    

  • Participate in the budgeting process from start to finish, including initial reviews and final approvals
  • Researching and collaborating on unit cost agreements
  • Collaborating with Construction Project Managers on project budgets consistent with spec selections
  • Partnering closely with the Procurement team
  • Providing recommendations for project specs and suitable subcontractor recommendations based on MN Custom Homes values, mission, and culture
  • Researching and expanding your knowledge of historical procurement costs
  • Managing various ad hoc projects as assigned


What You’ll Need to Succeed
    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Ability to be a continuous learner and problem solver
  • Willingness to be a proactive partner in a collaborative team environment 
  • Comfort and flexibility in taking on new tasks or projects, and lending a hand in and outside your immediate team
  • Ability to (re)prioritize and multitask effectively, picking up where you left off without missing a beat 
  • Ability to learn and retain information quickly, and understand general upstream/downstream implications
  • Customer first mindset and drive to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams)
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required to be furnished upon hire absent an approved accommodation

Hours & Compensation
 
    

This is a full-time position paying $65,550 - $91,750. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Individual placement within a salary range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to candidate experience, knowledge, individual, skills, and organizational performance.
