Mitsubishi Motors North America is seeking a Quality Engineering Specialist to support their Aftersales Service team. As the Quality Engineering Specialist you will communicate MMNA’s Quality Standards to the various stakeholders and ensure that those quality standards are met. You will also assist on accessory installation validation and quality reporting and improvement, and manage and complete Port auditing for improvement to vehicle initial quality.

A representation of the job responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Monitor supplier quality by using key indicators such as warranty reports, IQS, and customer complaints. Periodically inspect sample parts to ensure quality compliance. Develop corrective action plans and implementation as needed.
  • Compile vehicle-handling specifications for each vehicle. Update, publish and distribute to transportation companies each model year. Oversee “Port Rework” including developing procedures.
  • Develop and maintain all vehicle-processing standards. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance to standards and support logistics for classification of damaged vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain processes and quality standards for each MMNA source parts, component, and accessory supplier. Conduct qualifying audits for new suppliers and maintain standards by conducting periodic audits for each current supplier.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends regarding quality and standards. Integrate procedures and processes for the Product Support when opportunities arise.
  • Coordinate and administer vehicle parts modifications as required by the manufacturer.
  • Acts as a key member of PS department to support accessory parts information integration into the core business of Technical Support, technical issue clarification and more.
  • Plan and conduct Customer Acceptance Quality Audits (CAQA), report on results and follow-up with vehicle manufacturers for implementation of countermeasures.
  • Calmly respond in highly stressful business conditions and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Meet stated deadlines while delivering quality results.
  • Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours daily and 40 hours weekly.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Location of Position

  • This position is located in Franklin, Tennessee (the greater Nashville area) and the successful candidate must be located in TN.  While this role will require some presence in the office and at other locations, it will be a hybrid role with ability to work from home an average of 3 days per week.  Infrequent travel may be required.

Position Requirements and “Nice to Haves”:

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in automotive technical positions such as Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, supplier auditor
  • BA/BS degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge ISO 9000 requirements
  • Knowledge of MMNA Products
  • Statistical analysis skills.
