IT Strategy & Information Security Officer

 

Mitsubishi Motors North America is relocating its Headquarters from Cypress, CA to Franklin, TN! In support of our exciting big move, we are looking for an IT Strategy & Information Security Officer to join our IT team. As an IT Strategy & Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing research and input into the development of the IT Department’s short and long-term strategy, assist in regional coordination and communication for global IT initiatives. Establish, maintain and enforce information security strategy, policies, and tactics to protect company information system assets and comply with applicable government regulations, vendor/customer requirements, and industry practices.  

 


What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Assist senior management in the development of IT Strategy by conducting research projects to identify and evaluate emerging technologies that introduce innovative ideologies into the corporate infrastructure and align with the Business Strategy.
  • Assist with coordinating, developing, and implementing Mitsubishi’s global IT initiatives and tactical strategies into the North America Region.
  • Identify and communicate to senior management the appropriate IT strategies that improve synergies between Mitsubishi and its enterprise alliances.
  • Manage the IT controlling function for the IT Department.  Coordinate the preparation, review, and consolidation of IT budgets and project plans for all the North American companies, divisions, subsidiaries based upon MMC Global IT Planning schedules.
  • Develop IT Governance standards, policies and methodologies.  Participate in the Global IT Governance Team to represent North America Region and ensure the North American IT standards & policies are aligned with Global IT.
  • Review all software license contracts and coordinate with Legal department. Understand, track and audit the IT department usage of software licenses.
  • Establish information security policies and procedures consistent with business goals and regulatory requirements, such as set forth by Consumer Privacy Act and state programs.
  • Serve as the Information Security Officer and oversee the implementation of processes to safeguard personal and consumer private information.
  • Ensure that Mitsubishi Motors is compliant with all information security related requirements and meets contemporary applicable best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership to the IT department and other relevant parties as it relates to information security, both internal and outside entity facing systems.
  • Ensure regular audits and applicable assertions or certifications are obtained as to the compliance of relevant requirements and standards.
  • Participate in oversight of the IT department, with an emphasis on information integrity and security. Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs.
  • Create and lead ad-hoc security teams and/or directly reporting technical security staff (subject to executive approval) to administer and monitor computer and network equipment logs, intrusion prevention, anti-malware, and other data loss prevention systems.
  • Oversee threat management and security incident handling, including the coordination of investigations and reporting of security incidents, in alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits.
  • Calmly respond in highly stressful business conditions and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Meet stated deadlines while delivering quality results.
  • Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours daily and 40 hours weekly.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

 

What you’ll have:

 

  • 15 years or more experience in Information Technology, including: 5 years or more in a managerial or project management role related to security, auditing, or compliance. 5 years or more (can overlap with above) extensive hands-on experience creating and administering information security programs to meet regulatory and contractual security requirements.
  • Extensive background in all aspects of IT architecture, planning and strategy.
  • Extensive background in selecting, recommending, and implementing software solutions.
  • BS/BA or MA/MS/MBA degree in Business Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Recognized information security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and CISA is required
