Mitsubishi Motors North America is relocating its Headquarters from Cypress, CA to Franklin, TN! In support of our exciting big move, we are looking for a Communications and Events Manager to join our Communications and Events team. As a Communication and Events Manager, you will create, implement, and oversee internal and external communications programs that effectively support and promote Mitsubishi Motors and its vehicles. You will also work with internal and external stakeholders to tell unique brand stories and support current and future product, all to drive showroom traffic, support sales and build company and franchise value. Other duties include managing and coordinating all aspects of MMNA’s events programs, including consumer-, media- and dealer-facing events, and oversee outside agency partners in the flawless coordination of these events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and execute communications strategies in support of key company objectives that elevate the product and brand
  • Demonstrate a balance of creativity and strategy to drive brand awareness and generate PR success in both traditional and nontraditional ways
  • Serve as key resource for project information; interface and collaborate with internal and external teams necessary to complete assignments
  • In partnership with the Senior Director and external PR agency partner, assist in the development of product and brand communications including press releases, messaging, executive remarks and newsletters for internal and external audiences
  • Cultivate a strong network of media contacts (bring a strong rolodex), consisting of traditional, lifestyle and emerging media
  • Manage and execute logistics, project timelines, content and communications for consumer-, media- and dealer-facing events that include auto-shows, ride-and-drives, press reveals and dealer National Advisory Board meetings
  • Participate in industry relations activities and media events as needed
  • Oversee the management of national press fleet including inventory, vehicle maintenance and media loans
  • Manage and liaise with communications and events partner agencies
  • Must have experience dealing with crisis management, as well as thrive on working under short time-lines
  • Must show a genuine interest and passion for the industry and knowledge of current and emerging trends
  • Prepare and route master service agreements, scope of work documents, legal service requests
  • Participate in the budget creation process, and monitor and manage ongoing budget spend across communications and events program departments
  • Other duties and projects as assigned or required
What you’ll have:
  • 5-7 years of  PR/communications experience (preferred)
  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or another related field
  • In-house and/or agency experience with top-tier companies, though not necessarily in the auto industry
  • Proven experience in event planning, management, budgeting and flawless execution
  • Unparalleled communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong and confident presentation skills
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to meet deadlines while delivering perfect results
  • Ability to get along with a wide variety of personalities and work with various stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Must possess sound judgment, flexibility and nimbleness in changing courses and solving problems swiftly
  • Must be equally as comfortable working alone and unmanaged, as well as in a team environment
  • Must be an energetic individual with a self-confident and outgoing personality
  • Must have experience managing and securing sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Periodic domestic and international travel required
