Miracapo Pizza Company is the leading North American manufacturer of specialty frozen pizzas for some of the world’s largest retail, foodservice and consumer branded companies. For over 30 years we have specialized in contract manufacturing, private label, and brand development.
Human Resources Generalist is to assist and support the Human Resources department in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, and provide guidance for all MPC employees, through participation and lead in various HR areas. Assist in administrating benefits workers compensation, and employee performance programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring to complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Setting up interviews
- Interviewing applicants for hourly positions
- Completing background check, drug screening, reference check & employment verification
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Prepare badges for new employees and as requested.
- Conduct benefits orientation
- New hire statistics
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale;
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Counsel managers/supervisors by interpreting company policies to assist both employees and managers in resolving problems
- Maintain accuracy, integrity, and actively monitor records and reports.
- Worker’s Compensation claims
- Ensure accuracy of all workers’ compensation files and claims including follow-up
- Track and monitor work-related injuries
- Coordinate with supervisors and health care providers about injured employees’ clinic appointments, restrictions, and return to work.
- Participate in special projects such as Worker’s Compensation
- Set-up training classes and administer the programs
- Participate in the Safety Program through: Identifying and resolving safety issues
- Schedule all open enrollment meetings, track attendance and participate in all activities ensuring that employees understand the benefits and forms are completed.
- Assist employees with claim issues, life changes, etc.
- Review and process the benefits of new enrollments and request changes for all benefits (health insurance,
- Non-health insurance programs, and 401K).
- Maintain correct HRIS systems for employee payroll, compensation, benefits management,
- May complete translation of HR documents to Spanish.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Human Resources experience.
- 2-3 years of HR Generalist experience in manufacturing environment
- Good administrative and computer skills required in Microsoft programs.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) required.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain sensitivity and confidentiality required.
- Ability to function independently along with ability to multi-task is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to use available resources to keep current on HR issues and trends
