Position Summary:

The Solder-Assembler is responsible for building PCB Test Boards and SMT based hardware.

Salary Range: $27.50 - $35.00 per hour

Job Function:

  • Performs soldering tasks with small components and micro soldering tips down to 1005 component size (5x10mil)
  • Performs mechanical assembly tasks with small metalwork.
  • Performs delicate rework tasks while minimizing collateral damage.
  • Self-inspects his/her own work.
  • Assists with troubleshooting units by inspection.
  • Reads and works from assembly drawings and provide markups with improvements/design changes when necessary.
  • May contribute to chip and wire assembly
  • Keeps work area neat and clean and assists other staff with keeping lab clean.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required.
  • Minimum 10 years of assembly experience in SMT, small mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to utilize electronic work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to sit at a bench for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work under a microscope.
  • Must be able to read, write and orally communicate in English.
  • Proficient in computers, must be able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP interface.
  • Ability to perform die attach using electrically conductive epoxies; dispenses epoxy using both manual techniques and a dispensing machine.
  • Ability to perform wire bonding tasks using a variety of wire and ribbon sizes, and both ball and wedge.
  • Must be willing to work in a multi-disciplined team (Engineer, Technician, Assembler, Designer, MPE).
  • Must be comfortable working in a hybrid development and production environment where priorities may change rapidly.
  • Must be willing to continuously try and improve assembly skills and work closely with another assembler.
  • Must be comfortable working in a Class 100,000 clean room.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
