Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications.  With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive website.

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Supply Chain organization’s leadership team, reporting to the Head of Global Supply Chain Management, the Director of Global Sourcing will be responsible for developing and executing a global sourcing vision and strategy.  With a focus on operational excellence, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience, you will oversee all strategic sourcing, purchasing, and component engineering and New Product Introduction (CE/NPI) support activities.  In this highly strategic role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to drive supplier performance improvement and risk mitigation, contribute to revenue and profitability growth, enhance supply chain efficiency, and foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement to support Mini-Circuits’ commitment to meet our customer’s requirements and exceed their expectations.    

Salary Range: $181,100 - $271,000 per year

Job Function:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive Global Sourcing organizational strategy aligned with Mini-Circuits’ vision, goals, and objectives.
    • Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by driving integration of S&OP with critical sourcing and NPI processes to ensure strategic alignment and drive operational excellence.
    • Plan and drive improvement initiatives to continuously enhance the capabilities, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness of the Global Sourcing department globally.
  • Global Sourcing Strategy:
    • Oversee the development and execution of global strategic sourcing and risk mitigation strategies for all managed supply categories
    • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and onboard high-quality suppliers while optimizing costs and mitigating supply chain risks
    • Build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across Mini-Circuits to ensure alignment and successful execution of sourcing strategies and related supplier activities.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management:
    • Establish robust processes and systems to identify and assess potential risks within the global supply chain, including geopolitical, environmental, economic, and operational risks
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of supply
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate risk mitigation solutioning across the end-to-end supply chain
  • Component Engineering and New Product Introduction (CE/NPI) Support:
    • Lead the global component engineering and NPI functions to foster collaboration, agility, and a customer focused mindset to better support our Product Generation Process (PGP), enhance cooperation between design teams and strategic sourcing, and be a significant contributor to achieving the PGP’s goals and expectations relative to target cost, launch schedule, and delivery / quality requirements
    • Develop and manage the purchased item life cycle management processes from item definition and creation to item maintenance and end-of-life (EOL) solutioning
    • Develop and implement strategies and processes to maximize part standardization, reuse, and utilization of our existing strategic sourcing framework, while ensuring alignment of specifications with our suppliers
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with current and potential supplier executives to ensure a reliable supply chain, competitive pricing, continuous improvement in quality and delivery performance, and the achievement of our Total Procured Value objectives.
    • Drive supplier development initiatives and collaborate with suppliers on VA/VE activities to drive cost-out, eliminate inefficiencies, and achieve supply surety.
  • Purchasing Operations:
    • Direct the purchasing and buying activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services with timely communication to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate closely with Finance, Supplier Quality, Sourcing, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance our procure-to-pay processes to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and cost.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Build organizational capabilities and improve performance through personnel development plans, mentoring, cross-training, and succession planning.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, accountability, and a sense of urgency within the team and its processes.
  • Performance Measurement and Reporting:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor Global Sourcing and supplier performance.
    • Regularly evaluate performance against targets, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure annual objectives are being met.
    • Provide regular and ad hoc reporting to management on key objectives, initiatives, global sourcing spend, metrics / KPI’s, and other areas as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • As the leader of the Global Sourcing department you will recruit, retain, and continually develop a high-performing global team of 18-25 motivated supply chain professionals.
  • Communicate and drive the strategic plan, goals, objectives, and KPI’s across the team, ensuring alignment and understanding.
  • Regularly review and assess ongoing performance metrics of the team against targeted objectives, taking proactive measures as necessary to ensure department and organizational goals are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, promoting a strong, ethical, and responsible sourcing approach within the department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials Management, Engineering or a similar field preferred; Or experience equivalent to a four-year college degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in global sourcing, strategic procurement, operations and/or supply management with 5+ years in a sourcing / supply management leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with ability to inspire and retain a diverse global team.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles, including strategic sourcing methodologies, negotiation techniques, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies, through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build and manage strategic supplier relationships on a global scale.
  • Ability to independently evaluate information, analyze complex data, derive actionable insights, and make decisions with minimal guidance while exercising discretion and flexibility to changing priorities.
  • A passion for collaboration, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a strong customer focus with a bias to over-communicating.
  • Experience in NPI procurement and planning, working closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and launch.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence using data, risk/benefit analysis, and your skills in fostering relationships and building trust.
  • Working knowledge of contractual terms, clauses, and conditions preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ERP, E Sourcing platforms, & RFQ tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc) is required.
  • Professional certification in supply chain, such as CPSM, CPM, CSCP or equivalent is desired.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Travel, both domestic and international, to visit suppliers, Mini-Circuits facilities, tradeshows, etc will be required (Up to ~25%).
