RF Design Engineer I - CATV
Description
Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.
Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive website.
- Complete assigned active MMIC and hybrid designs for the CATV market.
- Assess various foundry and process options for given design task.
- Analyze and validate designs through extensive simulations (EM, linear, non-linear, stability, Monte Carlo etc.).
- Support packaging and product engineering teams by designing packages, test boards and application circuits for MMIC products.
- Verify performance of MMICs by hands-on RF testing of prototypes and full characterization of designs.
- Generate product release documentation including internal manufacturing documentation and product datasheets.
- Advise on qualification requirements for MMIC products and help facilitate successful qualification of designs.
- Maintain technical proficiency, keeping abreast of latest technologies and trends, including analysis and test methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Project Management team to track all technical developments according to established schedule and cost metrics.
- Level I:
- Bachelor's Degree 1-2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field, OR
- Master's Degree 0-1 year of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Level II:
- Bachelor's Degree + 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field, OR
- Master's Degree + 1 year of experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong theoretical background in Circuit Design, Device Physics and Electromagnetics coursework and associated lab work.
- Working knowledge of using modern design tools such as ADS and HFSS or equivalents.
- Basic knowledge in the use of RF test equipment, including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal sources, etc.
- Hands-on ability to assemble, tune, test and troubleshoot hardware.
- Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
