Position Overview:

The Bid Manager will work in close partnership with the assigned sales executive, to manage customer proposal requests and coordinate company solution documents and proposals that are compliant, of high quality, solution and outcome oriented, and on brand. The Bid Manager will assist creating winning strategies based on a deep understanding of client requirements, to achieve the ultimate goal of securing new clients and revenue for the organization. The incumbent in the role will collaborate with various stakeholders in the business to ensure holistic solutions and costing are incorporated into proposal responses.

Responsibilities:

  • Positively promotes our brand, culture and values at all times
  • Oversees all aspects of proposal preparation, ensuring quality and timely manner submission
  • Review all customer requirements to ensure that they are met in the proposal
  • Collaborate with various business units to include all necessary information and associated costing within the proposals
  • Coordinate incoming bid requests and proposal responses, organize and track all requests and responses using company content libraries and  maintain and update the libraries regularly to ensure up to date and high quality bid content material
  • Set up customer bid profiles in appropriate databases and maintain customer information related to the full bid cycle (proposal requests, responses, pricing, and presentations)
  • Track bid results including win / loss reporting, bid scoring and ranking (where available) with a lens of continuously improving bid results and effectiveness over time
  • Manage bid kick offs and bid projects, ensuring key stakeholder engagement and output in a timely manner, in line with key bid milestones.
  • Develops and improves bid content as well as identifies content gaps in existing library (or based on unique client requirements)
  • Identifies competitive intelligence through the RFP process. Leverages knowledge of competitive intelligence, to support future strategies
  • Assist with bid pricing and submit pricing suggestions for review and approval
Requirements:
  • Post-Secondary Education – degree preferred, or equivalent education / experience
  • Experience with the Bid Management process – preferred
  • Demonstrated previous exposure to contracts and an understanding of basic contract language
  • Excellent Writing, Review and Editing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe (PDF),
  • Project  Management experience
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels, leveraging a strong business acumen, influencing, developing credibility and trust, through a collaborative and consultative approach.
  • Critical thinking and a bias for continuous improvement
  • Excellent grasp of brand building and articulation of value propositions
  • Prior experience in a sales organization, experience securing (or supporting the acquisition of) high Value contracts
  • Industry-specific knowledge and background
  • Knowledge of document management methods
  • Ability to travel occasionally
