Safety Specialist
MidwayUSA is currently looking for a Safety Specialist with an Occupational Safety education or background responsible for overseeing the administration of company safety processes. Main processes will include managing Employee injuries, treatment and workers compensation; Employee safety training and Safety administration.
At MidwayUSA, our Safety team works together to develop, implement, monitor and manage safety programs, policies and procedures for the benefit of our Customers, Employees and Visitors.

- Assist in conducting accident investigations and work with departments to correct safety hazards and develop preventative procedures.
- Administer programs and policies to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.
- Administer Workers Compensation Claim management and injury management processes.
- Assist with Safety Training Program development and training of workforce members.
- Assist in safety and quality activities and improvement projects as directed.
- Assists with the management and reporting of Hazardous Waste generated onsite.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Track and report the results of the Environmental Health & Safety performance measurement system to department leadership team.
About You
- Will possess a bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or Environmental and Occupational Science or a related analytical, scientific, or technical field or relevant professional service
- Will have a current Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Missouri license, or be able to obtain this license within 1 year of hire (Preferred)
- Will have a strong desire to build a career with a passion for occupational safety and health and the ability to improve upon existing processes and results
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience preferred; will consider an entry-level candidate with appropriate educational background and other related experience.
- Ability to attain ASSP ASP Certification within 2 years of hire
- Interest in, and support of the NRA and the shooting sports industry
