Accounts Payable Specialist

MidwayUSA has a need for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will be responsible for accounts payable invoice processing, oversight of accounts payable documents and ensuring invoices are properly matched to purchasing and receiving documents. In this role you will ensure payments (mainly electronic fund transfers vs. checks) are timely and accurately recorded and correctly reported in general ledger expense accounts in a highly automated, paperless environment. You will help to maintain accurate supplier/partner accounts and documentation. You will assist in reconciling and reporting accounts payable through financial reporting processes. In addition, you will process general ledger transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing of receipts, payments and journals. An Accounts Payable Specialist with MidwayUSA will also assist with general ledger journals, reconciling, financial statement preparation or special projects as assigned.

- Execute Accounts Payable processes ensuring invoices are properly matched to purchasing and receiving documents, investigate and reconcile discrepancies and track and trend root cause of discrepancies for system improvement.
- Review and reconcile payments for timely and accurate reporting to general ledger expense accounts
- Maintain current supplier/partner information in financial reporting system for accounts payable for contacts, banking, and other related information to ensure efficient automated payables processes
- Process fully automated invoices through EDI (Electronic Data Exchange), auditing samples for timeliness and accuracy.
- Execute Financial reporting process such as general ledger processes like process journals, reconcile accounts, report preparation and account transaction review.
- Prepare, record and reconcile general ledger entries for monthly financial reporting
- Special projects as assigned
About You
- You have an associate’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent college credits preferred
- You have 1-3 years’ experience in highly automated accounting functions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software, a plus
- You have a demonstrated proficiency in attention to detail
