With over 350 employees and offices in Redmond, Detroit, Hamburg, and Nuremberg, MicroVision is a pioneer in MEMS-based laser beam scanning technology integrating MEMS, lasers, optics, hardware, algorithms, and machine learning software into proprietary technology to address existing and emerging markets.

We develop automotive lidar sensors and provide solutions for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, and non-automotive applications. We leverage our experience building augmented reality micro display engines, interactive display modules, and consumer lidar components.

With the acquisition of Ibeo Automotive Systems GmbH, we are the only lidar company with over 50 years of combined experience. Our mature company has a deep IP portfolio of 735 issued and pending patents, more than any of our peers.

To strengthen our team at the Redmond location, we are looking for Corporate Development Director.

Pay:

The pay range for this Washington-based position is $200,000 – 252,000. Exact compensation offers will vary based on skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for a new hire equity grant and/or a performance-based equity incentive plan.

Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing a Corporate Development plan to support and propel the company’s strategic goals. Reporting to the CFO, the ideal candidate will be a results-oriented and service-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the candidate to work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Your responsibilities:

·         Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to executive leadership to proactively understand and influence existing business strategies and growth initiatives

·         Partner with executives and leadership team to identify inorganic opportunities to accelerate strategy or fill gaps; develop business cases in partnership with stakeholders; construct deal concepts; and, execute highly complex Corporate Development transactions

·         Enable company-wide transaction identification, execution, and value capture in partnership with executive team

·         Source new growth opportunities in domains relevant to allow realization of strategic goals

·         Develop business cases in support of transactions and construct deal concepts

·         Identify, lead and drive complex transactions, including private or public acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic transactions from deal conception to closure with companies which positively and significantly impact the business bottom line and/or competitive position

·         Serve as lead negotiator and primary point of contact with a range of counterparties, including tech company executives, venture capital and private equity investors, entrepreneurs, investment bankers, lawyers and other advisors/stakeholders

·         Work closely with the leadership team to tightly align inorganic activity with the company's long-term strategy

·         Conduct and present research on relevant external M&A activity and competitor / peer transactions, to identify risks to the company and assure agility and insight

·         Prepare detailed reports and presentations describing the key attributes of growth opportunities and target acquisitions

·         Lead broad, multi-functional matrixed senior teams (People Ops, IT, Finance, Operations, Legal and other functional departments) to ensure a successful deal process, closing and initial transition for newly acquired employees

·         Organize and conduct initial due diligence on potential acquisition targets

·         Provide guidance and support for the integration process from deal planning through post-close to ensure delivery of acquisition model commitments

·         Work collaboratively with Finance and product leaders to prepare and analyze financial models for potential acquisitions and growth opportunities

·         Monitor financial performance of acquired companies for up to three years post-close and prepare reports describing actual performance against deal commitments

·         Participate in the preparation of periodic status reports for the executive team and Board of Directors

·         Drive projects and serve as team member for a variety of ad-hoc strategic projects and initiatives

·         Proven track record of leading multiple Corporate Development deals (deal sheet to be provided)

·         Ability to travel as needed

·         Seek to understand what matters most to our customers, listening more and talking less

Our requirements:

·         Demonstrated strong deal management skills leading both internal and external resources in all aspects of a deal

·         Deep experience and independent ability to prepare complex financial models analyzing potential deal investments

·         Extensive knowledge of technology and automotive industries across the LiDAR and ADAS ecosystems and beyond

·         Proven ability to build strong connections with Operating and Corporate leadership to assure comprehensive deal pipeline process

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills essential

·         Exceptional analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills

·         Cross-border experience ideal

·         Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position

MicroVision offers a flexible work schedule that could include a hybrid schedule of onsite and remote work, subject to team and business needs.  Individual work schedules will be at the discretion of management and dependent on role and business needs.  You must live and reside within commuting distance from MicroVision’s headquarters in Redmond, WA.
