Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing key relationships with trade schools, high schools, colleges, administrators, and students across the State of Michigan. The primary responsibility is to create engagement and awareness and provide an opportunity for potential Technician students to join our apprenticeship, co-op programs and drive enrollment with our CAT Think Big technician development partner. This role is critical to the attraction of the next generation of Technician to join the MacAllister Family of Companies (MFC). You will be able to initiate and unlock long-term career opportunities for Technicians. Position Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partner with management to develop and execute strategic recruiting plans and processes to attain technician talent.
  • Identify technician recruiting sources, assess new talent and develop new methods to attract diverse talent.
  • Serve as an ambassador of our organization when reaching out to candidates; cold calling candidates for positions and acting professionally in representing the organization.
  • Develop community-based grass roots efforts to build a technician pipeline in the short, medium, and long-term.
  • Execute current technician recruitment programs such as Think Big and MacAllister Technician School.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their needs to identify the right talent and ensure goals are met.
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant information, interview data and properly note the Applicant Tracking System with status updates/tracking.
  • Ensure all recruiting processes and applicant data is within OFCCP compliance.
  • Perform or participate in a variety of associated tasks which may include community outreach, onboarding, job fairs, and job fair planning.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No formal responsibility for supervising others

Position Requirements

Required:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in HR or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably within HR/talent acquisition, and/or operations or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience building relationships with high schools, trade schools, colleges, administrators, and potential candidates.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various career events, schools, etc. around the local geographies and/or the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrated experience with strong oral and verbal communication/follow up.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or operations related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in attending career events on behalf of the employer.

Other Requirements of Position

  • Works under general supervision. Employees act independently to handle standard problems but usually reports on such problems.  More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
  • Major responsibilities typically require creativity and latitude. Employees typically operate with specific objectives but often few written or unwritten procedures as guidelines.  Some policies or precedents for action exist.
