Compensation:
Min: $ 109,876 – Max: $ 155,953 / Grade B
 
 
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to reviewing all elements of project design and/or changes to the design pertaining to signals capital modernization projects requested by MTA C&D. Inspect and coordinate with C&D on Capital Construction Signal projects rehabilitating, installing, or fabricating signals and associated signal equipment.
Manage the inspection, testing, repair and maintenance of train control signals and signal equipment.  Develop materiel requirement plans.  Ensure timely acquisition and distribution of material. Develop strategic and tactical plans to enable division to better utilize limited material and workforce resources. Report to emergencies 24/7/365.  Develop action plans to minimize service disruptions. Direct regular maintenance and repair operations to ensure that personnel adhere to system safety policies and procedures. Conduct field visits to confirm specifications and designs are being followed as written.
 
Education and Experience:
Baccalaureate or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
8 years of full-time-related experience, of which 5 years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity
 
Desired Skills:
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of railroad signal components and systems, rapid transit operations, signal component testing, inspection repair, reconstruction, installation and rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment, maintenance and project management.
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures, safety rules and labor contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply interpersonal skills.

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
 
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
