Compensation
Salary range:  $77,463 - $114,945 (Grade F - 464 Points)

Responsibilities
The manager will be responsible for managing long term and more immediate strategic initiatives, including but not limited to initiatives related to station functional design and planning, and will manage planner / analyst.

Specific
Responsibilities include:
Lead and manage reviews of planned and proposed station upgrades and modifications as part of the MTA Capital Program to ensure adequate passenger access and circulation at and within subway stations, both after and during construction, to meet MTA strategic goals regarding restoring and maintaining stations in states of good repair and providing barrier-free access in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
 
Manage Operations Planning staff participation in the study of proposed capital or zoning- or outside party-related projects in close coordination with MTA Construction and Development. OP's responsibilities for such studies includes subway and bus planning initiatives, contribution of critical information necessary for and review of environmental review documents, and data analysis relating to ridership, infrastructure condition monitoring, and station circulation improvements.
 
Supervise administrative support functions; allocate internal resources and provide budget justification as required.
 
Coordinate with analysts/managers/consultants, utilize automatically collected datasets including fare collection (AFC) data, train track occupancy data, schedules and work programs, and automated vehicle locator (AVL) data for analytics such as origin-destination matrices, link loads, performance, and running times.
 
Provide project management expertise in developing and implementing project plans.
 
Represent OP for procurement actions, in meetings with other MTA units and with City agencies, and in public meetings.

Education and Experience
Baccalaureate degree required in Computer Science or Engineering and five (5) years of experience with two (2) years of managerial/supervisory experience, or a satisfactory equivalent.

Desired Skills
Expertise in urban, regional or transportation planning (focus on pedestrian flow planning). 
Basic understanding of subway station structure and design. Good spatial sense and skill in architectural layout.  
Working knowledge of transit operations.
Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
Proven ability to collaborate and advocate to others to lead to successful outcomes.
Good supervisory skills including communication, hiring, mentoring and discipline. 
Ability to set priorities, delegate responsibilities and manage multiple dynamic deadlines.
