Summary
The Senior Manager of Filming & Events will work within the MTA C&D Advertising and Promotions team to flawlessly execute brand partnerships, film shoots, and other events across the MTA. TV and film production will be the primary area of oversight, working with production companies to scout locations, estimate costs, negotiate requirements, coordinate staff across MTA departments, gather the required documentation, and provide oversight throughout production.
The incumbent will also manage other in-system events, including temporary station "branding," in-station promotional events, activities associated with sporting events (e.g., US Open, PGA tournaments, baseball games, etc.), Broadway shows, and much more.
This position will work independently and may, at times, mentor and partner with a production manager to ensure the flawless execution of (revenue-generating) events and productions in MTA environments such as stations, terminals, and trains.
Responsibilities
Define and document new processes and procedures to align film and event production across the organization.
Develop, plan, and produce profitable, well-organized events and shoots to effectively negotiate requirements and pricing with the Assistant Director, as needed.
Act as a service-oriented "Sherpa" for external brands and organizations, coordinating our internal resources to ensure that we are an easy-to-work-with valued partner.
Partner with stations, car equipment, General Superintendents of Maintenance (GSM), Real Estate, Security, and others (for cleaning, painting, maintenance of branded spaces, voiceovers, etc., to facilitate events).
Manage all logistics and coordination between various departments.
Creatively solve problems for clients and the MTA to enable projects whenever possible.
Ensure that required permits, insurance, and any other necessary documentation are received and are in compliance.
Acquire production scripts, circulate them to appropriate parties, and gather approvals.
Contribute to a database of best practices and unique station attributes.
Document processes and procedures as needed.
Enhance the MTA brand by delivering (better, faster, cheaper) highly effective experiences and satisfied clients.
Partner with Outfront Media (Advertising Concessionaire) when partnerships and events are paired with advertising.
Collaborate with the Promotions team and contribute to a monthly calendar of events.
Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction by gathering feedback via a post-event client satisfaction survey, documenting and sharing lessons learned.
Contribute to monthly financial reporting.
Communicate effectively across the team and other departments to ensure others are informed of events and productions. Contribute to defining and documenting new processes and procedures to align film and event production across the organization.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Film, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum (7) seven years of experience in film production, event planning, or project management.
Must have the flexibility to work late and on weekends as needed.
Must have familiarity with permits required for events, including insurance and track safety.
Must have strong written & verbal communication skills.
Service-industry-oriented, ensuring client satisfaction at events or production is a top priority.
Highly organized and capable of working on multiple projects at once.
Solution-oriented, forward thinker who relishes challenges and resolves issues.
