Responsibility:
The applicant must possess the capabilities to perform the following duties: Must have good knowledge of the N.Y.C.T’s Track System, track geometry and track devices, and superior knowledge of the MW-1 Track Standards Manual.  Must know how to read and interpret the Track Geometry Car printouts. Must be computer knowledgeable, and able to use printers, USB memory devices, external hard drives and other personal computer equipment. Applicant must be proficient with computer software and hardware, and must know Excel, Access, Word and be familiar with the Windows operating system; and be able to learn and use the specialized Offboard programs to analyze and review the Video Data collected by the Track Geometry Cars.  Must be able to interface with R.T.O Superintendents and Train Dispatchers as well with Car Desk personnel. Applicant will be required to prepare detailed reports of video defects found by the Video Systems of the Track Geometry Cars, and distribute them expeditiously and accurately to Track Maintenance Subdivisions for corrective action. Applicant will be required to conduct quality control audits of the defects reported by the Track Geometry Cars’ Video Systems. Applicant must be able, using specialized software, to detect, compare, report and confirm video defects on the rails, fasteners, ties and other track devices by reviewing and analyzing the video files obtained with the Video Systems on the Track Geometry Cars, applying all relevant MW-1 Track Standards. Applicant must be proficient in detecting track defects in the field as well as using the video files obtained with the video systems onboard the Track Geometry Cars and must be able to evaluate unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions. Applicant will be responsible for the control and maintenance of computer databases of video defects (using EAM, MS Access database, Excel and others). 
  

Compensation:
Maintenance Supervisor II (Track) Salary Range:
1st Entrance    $110,381
2nd Year          $111,951
3rd Year           $115,888

Education and Experience:

Five years of full-time satisfactory experience; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills 

  • Proficient in GEODUDE,Microsoft Office Suite, computer software and hardware
  • Familiar with Windows 7 Operating System
  • Familiar with MW-1 Track Standards Manual
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports.
