Hourly Rate:                    $21.00 (Undergraduate)
 
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
 
 
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
The MTA Information Technology (IT) department's mission is to deliver innovative and responsive solutions that enable safe, effective, and efficient transportation operations. The IT Assets management team manages, monitors, and tracks MTA IT’s assets, including hardware, software, and related services. This includes all technology assets for information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Managing lifecycle of mobile assets (Ordering, receiving, preparing, distributing, inventory, store, track, repair/replace, dispose).
  • Creating a report on technology assets.
  • Respond to mobile device reported tickets and handle them accordingly.
  • Updating departmental records accurately and timely for all IT assets and services.
  • Support with service requests and ticket resolution.
  • Support team with updating vendor portals records for asset management needs.
  • Update documentation to assist user clients and IT staff.
  • Support team with non-standard user requests and recommend effective solutions. 
 
PROJECTS:
  • Updating asset records.
  • Create/Edit excel documents.
  • iOS deployment support.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA.
  • Major(s) Preferred: Computer Science, Computer Information Science degree program, or related field.
