Job Summary:
Direct employees and activities in the Trans./Safety Training Units. These duties include directing and evaluating the performance of Trans. Instructors/Div. Safety Supt's: curriculum development; evaluation of probationary employees; development of new training initiatives; and provide training and direction to the Division Training Supervisors. Plan, develop, Implement and manage all DOB regulations mandated under NYS Motor Vehicle and Traffic Law, Section 19-A and the Federal Commercial Moter Vehicle Safety Act (CDL). Develop the policies/procedures necessary for ensuring NYCT's compliance with these regulations. Develop and manage the Performance Evaluation Program to evaluate and improve the safety of all B/Os. Develop and implement probationary review programs. Provide training to LI Bus & MTA Bridges & Tunnels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) Transportation Management; Engineering or a satisfactory equivalent; Training or related discipline Required
- Satisfactory equivalent of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years Required
- Minimum 3 years Managerial/Supervisory experience Required
Skills and Abilities:
- In depth knowledge on NYCT transportation procedures and policies. Knowledge of training techniques and curriculum development. Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Required
Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
To be eligible for consideration for a new role, current MTA employees must complete at least one year of service in their current role prior to applying.
