RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position is critical for field verification/surveys and for measuring station platforms for various projects including ADA Platform Gaps, station surveys, platform barriers and roofing. The tasks include performing measurements at ADA boarding areas throughout NYCT stations to address gap concerns and find ways to re-mediate. Provide architectural designs and construction drawings for platform remediation to ensure compliance with ADA guidelines. Performing station surveys for data inventory and drawing updates of all 472 New York City Transit stations after capital construction. Also, other tasks include measuring the stations to position platform barriers for alignment of safety barriers with subway car doors; and to perform roofing surveys, reports, and drawings prior to construction while conducting roof inspections post construction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture that is the first professional

degree in architecture from an accredited college. Any other type of architectural

degree or a degree in architectural technology is not acceptable.

DESIRED SKILLS: 

• Experience with diverse architectural and engineering project typologies.
• Experience with NYC regulatory requirements and processes including NYC Building Codes, Zoning Code, and local laws are preferred.
• Experience in design-build procurement and contract administration is preferred.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and perform tasks across multiple simultaneous projects at various stages of development and implementation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with staff at different experience levels and demonstrate an ability to engage with non-technical staff including diverse client agencies, end users, and other stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High proficiency in MicroStation and /or AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Teams and excel is needed.

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, interview, and written assessment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
