Summary

The Quality Specialist Level 2 develops Quality documentation. It performs quality assessments of Design, Construction, and Quality processes and projects to ensure that MTA C&D requirements are implemented in support of MTA C&D's ISO 9001 Quality Management registration. 

 

Responsibilities

Works with C&D subject matter experts in developing C&D quality-related procedures, guidelines, and other documentation.  

 

Assists in providing training and other activities to ensure awareness and understanding of documented processes.

 

Performs assessments of contractor and/or consultant quality activities at various field sites/project offices.

Prepares assessment reports for distribution to management.

 

Supports Business Unit activities regarding quality submittal reviews and/or other quality-related activities.

 

Supports ISO 9001 registration activities, including coordination and participation in ISO assessments.

 

Works with C&D Corporate Quality personnel to identify and initiate improvements in C&D processes, requirements, and activities to ensure the successful execution of the MTA C&D Capital Program. 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Transportation, or a related field.

 

Must have a minimum of four (4) years of related experience.

 

Competencies:

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Familiarity with Quality concepts and processes, including ISO 9001.

 

Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).

Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").
