Position Title: Predictive Maintenance & Material Planning, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate)
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
Predictive Maintenance and Material Planning ensure the timely and accurate availability of materials supporting Maintenance of Way (MOW) as well as research and evaluate new technologies and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and analyze data gathered from existing monitors, including track conditions, wheel wear and environmental conditions.
- Improve cloud monitor reporting, develop reports and dashboards.
- Establish and track key performance indicators from monitor data.
- Support predictive maintenance team determining and transmitting monitor data.
- Research emerging railroad technologies.
- Identify areas of need for monitoring data.
- Analyze tool specifications, summarize data and make recommendations on adoption of emerging technologies.
- Review data from pilot monitoring projects.
PROJECTS:
- Support pilot for Track Conditions.
- Cloud Monitoring Improvements.
- Predictive Maintenance Enhancement Initiative.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
- Major(s) Preferred: Business, Transportation, Engineering, Logistics, Material Management, or related field.
