Responsibility:
Must be capable of managing M/S 1 Supervision and Hourly employees in all aspects of Work Train Operations within the NYCT Subway System. Must be responsible for implementing safe practices and procedures while operating in a fast-paced changing environment during the Loading/Unloading of work trains at varied yard locations. Responsible for the daily Gasoline and Diesel dispensing pumps including inventory tracking, reordering of fuel as needed. Must be able to pass NYS UST A/B Operator Training and remain up to date with a current A/B Operator certification maintaining detailed records for in house and State auditing requirements. Will be required to handle all administrative responsibilities including Payroll, Accident Reports, Daily Inspection Forms, Housekeeping records, Work Assignment Sheets, etc. Must be able to manage and inventory daily material deliveries while operating in a limited space environment. Communication with procurement and material personnel is necessary. Will oversee the daily preparation of the preliminary work train manifest on a timely basis by providing guidance to the MSI and three (3) SPEC WT EQUIP INSPECT in reference to the allocation of miscellaneous work equipment for all MOW and CPM requesters. Schedule crane operators as required to meet the needs of all requesting departments. Must be open to working overtime and various days off as required.

Education and Experience:
Five (5) years of full-time satisfactory experience working for a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining and repairing track and roadway; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Desired Skills
- Must be familiar with all Work Train Policies and Instructions.
- Must manage Contracted personnel loading/unloading as required while implementing DOS Procedure 13.0 Maintenance of Way Flat Car Loading & Unloading.
- Along with Policy Instruction 2.8.0 (Work Train & Yard Security Policy).
- Must be familiar with all work train equipment including Diesels, Flatcars, Cranes, Rider Cars etc.
- Must be proficient in the reading and interpretation of the Work Train Manifest.
- Must be able to communicate with various department heads as necessary in order to assemble specified work equipment and ensure proper material is loaded as needed.
- Must be familiar with all miscellaneous work equipment including their function and the various types of work train needed for specific types of projects.
- Must have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills (communication, conflict resolution, decision making, leadership, relationship building, mediation, problem solving, teamwork/collaboration).
- Must possess computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, and Word.
- Will be required to understand and utilize the CWTMS - Work Train program application, and have computer skills related to the scheduling of employees for all types of training required
