Summary
The Assistant Manager of Sales Promotions works within the MTA Advertising & Promotions team to create and coordinate materials to support new and repeat business and external market department efforts, including filming & events, promotions, and our deals and destination program, MTA Away.
This role serves to highlight exciting opportunities from the MTA to businesses, production companies, experiential agencies, and more in order to attract more business and revenue for the agency. They are motivated to effectively engage with different audiences and share enthusiasm for MTA marketing programs. They will craft and amplify content across all platforms—website, social media, marketing assets, e-blasts and newsletters, digital screens, and more. They will also be responsible for collaborating with other teams to ensure messages are aligned.
Responsibilities
Write and develop with other writers and designers—engaging and persuasive content across channels (email, website, social platforms, digital screens, sales & marketing materials, MTA Away) that conveys the value of the MTA to clients, brands, and other external partners.
Assess data and make recommendations on how to grow a client segment or area of revenue.
Conduct competitive analysis of other transportation marketing and make recommendations about what the MTA should do as a result.
Develop a deep understanding of how to effectively engage with the MTA's various client types: current and future business partners, film production companies, experiential agencies, and more.
Collaborate with the sales and promotions teams to understand business objectives and create content that aligns with our strategic goals for revenue generation.
Collaborate with agency social, website, and press teams to ensure successful delivery of messages and promotional programs.
Research relevant information and insights to support sales initiatives and promotional efforts.
Analyze past outreach to understand the effectiveness and suggest improvements.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A degree in marketing or business is preferred.
Minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably pertaining to marketing, sales and sales promotion
Must be highly disciplined, organized, and detail-oriented.
Able to manage multiple projects and work at pace and to timelines.
Must have excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Must be a creative problem-solver.
Strong understanding of communications practices and channels that are both informative and creative and that engage the audience.
Proficiency in and ability to learn to work with all levels within the MTA.
