Job summary:
 
Supervises maintenance, construction, and operational activities for New York City Transit stations and facilities. Leads multiple trades in the coordination and execution of repair, inspection, and rehabilitation work involving structural, electrical, plumbing, and architectural systems. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
The selected candidate will be accountable for planning, organizing, and managing all personnel and activities related to facility maintenance, construction, and operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing subordinates; developing cost estimates; coordinating general orders; and providing necessary inspection, maintenance, repair, and/or construction activities to ensure safe and reliable facility operations. The candidate will also assume the duties and responsibilities of the General Superintendent during their absence.
 
 
Education and Experience:     
  • High school diploma or its equivalent; and
  • Five (5) years of related professional experience, including three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role.
 
Desired Skills  
 
Strong knowledge of MTA NYCT rules and regulations
Knowledge of construction trade, project management and maintenance management techniques
Proficient in the use of EAM.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of transit operations relates to infrastructure maintenance and construction, including railroad safety standards, material procurement, and labor contracts.
Ability to review design documents (contract drawings and specifications), shop drawings, and O&M manuals from a maintenance and commissioning perspective.
