**This position is open to all Yard Dispatchers, Assistant Train Dispatchers and Train Dispatchers.**
Job Summary:
Conduct general, holiday and vacation picks for hourly and supervisory employees in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and pick procedures. Maintain pick documents. Accurately record pick and enter data results electronically in the system
Responsibilities:
The Department of Subways Operations Support, RTO Job Selection Programs Unit is seeking a highly motivated Supervisor to work in the Pick Unit. The selected candidate will conduct general holiday and vacation picks for hourly and supervisory employees in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and pick procedures. Maintain pick documents. Accurately record pick and enter data results electronically in the system. Report all unusual circumstances and take the necessary corrective action.
Compensation:
Note: You will remain at your current rate of pay.
The candidate selected for this position is expected to commit to the role for a minimum of one (1) year to support operations continuity and team effectiveness.
Education and Experience:
The position is open to current MTA/NYCT Yard Dispatchers, Assistant Train Dispatchers and Train Dispatchers who have completed one year of service. Good operating and attendance record required.
To be considered for this position, current MTA employees must have at least one year of service in their current role. Eligibility to interview also requires maintaining a satisfactory record in performance, attendance, and disciplinary conduct.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of NYCT Rules, Regulations, and Operating Procedures
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
- Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- Skill to read and understand work programs and job schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both verbal and written form
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to accurately record employees’ pick choices
- Ability to learn new tools and software quickly
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Ability to respond to employee inquiries and concerns
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
