Compensation:

 

Staff Analyst Trainee 1 (OA): $50,924- $53,980 (Represented by TWU)

Staff Analyst Trainee 2 (OA): $55,001 - $61,111(Represented by TWU)

 

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for reviewing and processing third party capital funded consultants and construction payment requests to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms and conditions. The candidate will be required to identify deficiencies in invoices and communicate effectively with Project Management to resolve any findings. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for entry and maintenance of data within the Capital Payments System and reconciliation of funding and expenditure variances.

 

Education and Experience:

Staff Analyst Trainee I:

 

1.      A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; OR

2.      An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification; or in personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; OR

3.      A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education, or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of satisfactory full-lime professional experience as described in "2" above; OR

 

A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma or its education equivalent.

 

Staff Analyst Trainee II:

Completion of 1 year of satisfactory service as a Staff Analyst Trainee 1.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Strong written, and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to create, update and formulate Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and exercise good judgment.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft.
  • Computer oriented.
  • Motivated self-starter.

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
