COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $84,233 - Max. $119,239 / Grade F
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
This position is responsible for managing the operations of a technical support group which is charged with reviewing field maintenance operations and evaluating and developing schedules and production reports to support routine maintenance operation and inspection cycles for hydraulic structural projects, Iron, Vent and Night Operations. This includes developing databases to monitor maintenance projects, establishing and evaluating performance criteria. Review EAM reports and ensure compliance within the department. The manager will assume the duties of the Director, Technical Field- Support when necessary.
Providing technical guidance to the Chief Officer, Infrastructure, regarding planning and scheduling of routine maintenance operations, inspections cycles, and work order projects, coordination of capital work, training, memorandums, engineering review (force accounts) and time/work analysis that covers all building trades.
Assist the Director in planning, directing and recommending the scope of maintenance operations, inspection cycles and work projects to be scheduled after identifying operational priorities and developing alternative designed to achieve the division's production goals. This involves coordination with MOW Divisions, Station Environment, Service Delivery, MTA C&D and Office of System Safety.
Manage the development of information systems designed to monitor the quality of all work performed, as well as provide cost controls for all maintenance programs. Additionally, plans and management performance reporting systems that are used to identify and correct projects which are not adhering to schedule and/or budget.
Provide directions to subordinate employees and review specific scopes of work and performance accountability measures required to meet division production objectives. Provide subordinate employees with direction regarding compliance with MTA NYC Transit rules and regulations, effective labor relations and personnel policies and safety work laws, procedures and practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Finance or a related field or satisfactory equivalent. Five (5) years of full-time experience, of which two (2) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge of NYCT financial practices and cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of NYCT system.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of operations research.
  • Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of the NYCT Capital Program.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate and foster teamwork.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred but not required.
