Salary Range: $87,851 - $124,834

Responsibilities:
 
  • Under general supervision with broad scope of latitude for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative, this position is accountable for managing work of varying levels of difficulty with regards to the design, development, alteration, modification, testing, engineering, and reverse engineering of electronic test equipment used to support electronic systems within NYCT (DCE, Signals, CBTC, AFC, DOB). The equipment is comprised of varying degrees of difficulty which includes computers, communication equipment, Radio Frequency equipment (RF), electronic power substation controls, test and measurement equipment and various electronic devices.
  • The selected candidate must have a working knowledge of software programming, computer usage and automated testing concepts. In addition, in support of CES shop floor production repair efforts, this position will oversee the generation of test procedures and other technical documents as well as establish and coordinate vendor provided training for the hourly workforce.
 
Education and Experience:
 
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field of study and five (5) years of full-time related experience, of which three (3) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; Or
  • A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
 
Desired Skills:
 
  • Must possess a working knowledge of electronics, to review test equipment schematics, test procedures, and functional and diagnostic test philosophies.
  • Working knowledge of test instruments such as, but not limited to, frequency generators, signal conditioners, digital voltmeters, and sampling oscilloscopes.
  • Strong knowledge of NYCT and Subways rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in managing the research and development function of a technical group.
  • Experience with a proven track record in cutting edge technology and the implementation of new continuously improved product lines.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
