Summary
The engineer will be involved in all MTA C&D project lifecycle phases for the Stations Business Unit, including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reports.
Responsibilities
The role will entail some of these typical duties:
Designs/supervises various aspects of a project for MTA infrastructure.
Performs technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing historical data, surveys, reports, and as-builts to create innovative engineering design projects.
Reviews designs, tests, assesses materials and performs/reviews engineering calculations.
Conducts site visits to obtain existing conditions and correctly identify design and construction risks.
Embraces mentoring from senior staff.
Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in the appropriate Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Communications, Track, Signals, Environmental, Fire Protection).
Must have a minimum of four (4) years of related experience.
Competencies:
A registered NYS licensed professional engineer (PE) is required.
Knowledge of the capital design and construction process.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office are required.
Experience visiting the field for initial scope/survey and construction oversight preferred.
