Architect I: $87,701-$110,444
Architect II:$104,266-$125,964
Architect III: $116,636-$137,501
Responsibilities
The incumbent Architect will form part of a team within Architecture and Project Management. We support the Maintenance of Way (MOW) engineering groups by providing technical support. The successful applicant will be closely associated with the following:
- Reviews of Capital Contract packages for multiple design and bid projects of varying scope and value./
- This position supports the current manager of the roofing repair contract in Architecture and Project Management (valued in excess of $5M).The incumbent will validate payments and issue instructions for change orders.
- This position will advance ADA access throughout the transit system where Existing platforms have been designated as being in non-compliance.
- The incumbent will support other groups within Transit to deliver a variety of building types including concession stand refits, office remodeling and change management.
- The incumbent will also take part in the stations survey project. This is a detailed update of the existing conditions drawings held by MTA Transit .
Architect I, II & III
A valid New York State Registration as an Architect. Current New York State Registration as an Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
Special Note
In addition to above qualifications requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project.
Desired Skills
- A valid New York State Registration and license as an Architect.
- Experience with diverse architectural and engineering project typologies.
- Experience with NYC regulatory requirements and processes including NYC Building Codes, Zoning Code, and local laws are preferred.
- Experience in design-build procurement and contract administration is preferred.
-Ability to balance multiple priorities and perform tasks across multiple simultaneous projects at various stages of development and implementation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting with staff at different experience levels and demonstrate an ability to engage with non-technical staff including diverse client agencies, end users, and other stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microstation and /or Autocad.
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Teams and excel is needed.
Selection Method
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
