Compensation:

Salary: $119,377 - 169,439 (Grade A, 994 hay points)

Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the security of all NYCT Revenue assets, including employees, revenue, & fare media. The incumbent manages the 24/7/365-armed guard contract for the Consolidated Revenue Facility (CRF), ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and NYS law, to provide the optimum deterrent to theft, or intrusion. Manages the electronic security systems at CRF, disaster recovery site & remote reporting sites. Responsible for issuance, safeguarding, repair & licensing of NYCT firearms & ammunition, as well as administering proper use of force (article 35) & firearms training. Liaises with NYPD Pistol Licensing Unit. Serves as Master Instructor for NYCT CRF NYS Certified Security Guard School. Responsible for all active shooter training & drills in collaboration with NYPD Anti-terrorism Bureau.

Education and Experience:

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, security management, or a related field and twelve (12) years of full-time, paid, related experience, and at least eight (8) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity; or
  2. A satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience.
  3. Valid NYC Pistol Permit.

Desired Skills:

  • Possess a valid handgun license within the State of New York and be eligible to obtain a handgun Carry Guard License in New York City. 
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with no restrictions.
  • Experience in the secure storage, inventory and administration of handguns, audits and investigations.
  • Detailed knowledge in security loss prevention, electronic security, physical security, overt/covert surveillance systems and contract administration. 
  • Knowledge of the principles of firearms instruction and regulations for NYS Armed Security Guards.
  • Experience in managing security operations and/or personnel.
  • Experience in collaborating with other government agencies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and exercise good judgment. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of Training and regulatory compliance.
  • Certified as a NYS Dept. of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Instructor.
  • PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
