Position Title:                   Reliability Analytics, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate:                    $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate)
 
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
 
 
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
Reliability Analytics provides structured data analysis, independent auditing and ongoing advisory support to the MOW Divisions in order to improve asset performance, reduce risk and make more informed decisions.   
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret track engineering maps and drawings in the DRAW system to identify Signal switches associated with Bad Actor segments.
  • Maintain the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) dashboard back-end.
  • Assist with the production of the monthly reliability report.
  • Identify key matching fields and build necessary reference tables, such as station/line/segments.
  • Maintain dashboards and supporting tables.
  • Query databases and validate data from two different reporting systems for accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses, present findings and document.
  • Develop a PowerPoint presentation on critical junctions that clearly communicates past issues, remediation actions taken and areas requiring further attention.
 
PROJECTS:
  • Bad Actor Switch Maintenance Compliance Mapping.
  • STARS - HEXAGON Incident Matching Algorithm.
  • Major Incidents Research and Analysis.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Skills Preferred: Proficient in Excel, MS Office Software, Power BI, SQL and DAX
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
  • Major(s) Preferred: Computer Science or Data Science, or related field.
