Responsibilities: 
This position is responsible for the oversight and execution of various duties and responsibilities within the Customer Services & Operations Support Sub-department and will be assigned to any or all deliverables within the Sub-department. The incumbent will support both subway and bus communications and direct customer service. In Fare Evasion, the incumbent will ensure that all methodologies set forth are adhered to and that all data is valid and publishable using all methodology to verify evaders. In Administration, the incumbent must ensure all personnel, budget, computer/phones, facility, and non-revenue vehicle fleet deliverables are executed on time and accurately. The Superintendent manages a team and provides higher level support services as needed both on the operational side and administrative side ensuring all internal controls are adhered to. 
  
Education and Experience: 
Baccalaureate degree in Public/Business Administration, Economics, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Engineering or a closely related field. 
Four (4) years of related professional experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/managerial experience, or a satisfactory equivalent of the combined education and experience. 
Desired Skills: 
  • Knowledge of NYCT rules, policies, and operational procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in collecting and analyzing financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite package, especially MS Excel and MS Access.
  • Must be well organized and be able to effectively plan and meet system deadlines.
  • Effective organization and communication skills are necessary for this position.
  • Excellent data research, data collection and analytical skills are required for the position 
  
Selection Method: 
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, interview, and written assessment. All selected candidates will be subject to a full background investigation that includes employment and education. Discrepancies may lead to dismissal.
