Departments:     Department of Subways (DOS) Safety
Location:           130 Livingston, Brooklyn, NY 
Position Title:     Subways Safety, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate (Undergraduate): $19.00 

Overview of Department: 

DOS Safety serves as a subject matter expert to address safety policy concerns raised by Subways
Divisional management, supervision, hourly employees, and labor unions. The unit also serves as the liaison between the Department and the Office of System Safety and regulatory agencies. The incoming intern will assist DOS Safety with creating Dashboards to be utilized Department wide.
 
Responsibilities:
 
- Work with the Safety Unit and Subways Divisions to create Dashboards.
- Using data from multiple sources create a dashboard to track equipment expirations.
- Support creating a system to input Chemical Review Requests.
- Support creating dashboards to monitor the Asbestos and Lead Programs.
- Support creating a dashboard to monitor SHARP Program attendees.
- Support creating a dashboard for Safety Blitz results.
- Support creating electronic fillable forms for internal initiatives.
 
Projects:
 
- Support creating a dashboard to keep track of field equipment expirations.
- Support creating an integrated system and dashboard to input Chemical Review Requests.
- Develop reports and presentations to disseminate analyses and conclusions.
 
 Required Qualifications:
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to develop reports and presentations to disseminate analyses and conclusions
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player
 
Required Education: 
  •  Matriculated in undergraduate in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA
  • Major(s): Computer Science, System Implementation & Integration, or related field.
