COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $214,662 - Max. $294,378/ Hay Points 2248 Exec
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Vice President, Subways Operational Strategy is a member of the Department of Subways senior executive team. This position provides executive direction and leadership for the delivery of safe, reliable, efficient and customer-oriented subway service to the riding pubic. The position is accountable for oversight of operations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrade of the New York City Subway system, including over 8,000 daily subway trips, 665 miles of track and related infrastructure, and 6,5000 subway cars. This position will support day-to-day operations, incident management, and service improvement initiatives, with a focus on planning and strategy. Major initiatives will include modernization of maintenance practices, the progressive rollout of Communications Based Train Control (CBTC), and integration of new car fleets. The selected candidate will develop and create policies and foster an environment that engages and motivates employees to continually seek ways to improve service and overall customer experience. The selected candidate will also advise the Executive Vice President, Subways on all matters pertinent to NYCT subway system operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Transportation Planning, Transportation Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Twelve (12) years’ experience, of which eight (8) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
DESIRED SKILLS:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the operation and maintenance of a large-scale rapid transit system; proficiency in maintenance planning and strategy; and the political savvy and interpersonal skills to navigate a complex organization and high-profile operation.
