Compensation:
Salary Range $159,915 - $226,976 (Hay Points - 1,578 points)
Responsibilities:
The Chief Electronics Maintenance Officer will join a talented executive team at New York City Transit and will be responsible for the Executive Direction, Strategic Planning, SOGR, Maintenance and Operation of NYCT's electronic systems and components. This position oversees Communications, Life Safety, Customer Information, Revenue Collection and other systems for Subways and Buses; including Voice, Operating Data, Wireless, Radio, Copper, and Fiber Optic Infrastructures.
Responsibilities include directing the Maintenance, Installations, and availability of AFC/MetroCard/OMNY equipment at all NYCT locations; directly impacting the performance of Car Equipment, AFC and other agencies by the performance of the Central Electronic Repair shop.
- Providing executive leadership in communicating workplace safety and departmental safety goals.
- Providing Executive direction with EMD staff analyzing EAM data to identify trends to adjust remedial maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance cycles.
- Providing significant support and involvement to the Capital Program for DOS communications projects.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in technology, engineering, communications, or a closely related field of study, and 20 years of full-time related experience, of which 10 years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity; or
- A satisfactory combination of education and experience.
Desired Skills:
- Extensive managerial experience in a 24/7 mission critical operation with mastery of complex systems operations and maintenance, documentation. personnel training and contractor management.
- Extensive knowledge of electronic systems testing and maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of NYCT policies and operations with experience in union contracts and negotiations.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
