THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO NYC TRANSIT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISORS I AND II
(TRACK DEPARTMENT)
Responsibility:
To oversee the fabrication of all mainline & yard switches, panels and all requests made from other Track Divisions regarding Blocks, CWR rail, frog rehabilitation etc. and oversee Fleet Operations to ensure delivery of Track Construction Panels, necessary equipment, material, and fuel when requested.
- Schedule and Assign, for fabrication, all Track Construction Panel / Switch requests, Block requests, CWR requests and frog repair
- Ensure material needed for daily tasks are on hand and inform management when required material needs to be re-ordered/requisitioned
- Oversee Fleet Operations with daily trucking requests
- Able to communicate with supervisors to gain required information
- Schedule and assign supervisors and employees to the various jobs required throughout Linden Shop.
- Conducts investigations and reports regarding IOD’s / MVA’s
- Must be available pre and post tour
- Coordinate overtime efficiently when required
- Ensure safe work practices are conducted on a daily basis
Compensation:
Maintenance Supervisor (Track) II Salary Range:
1st Step – Entrance $110,381
2nd Year $111,951
3rd Year $115,888
Education and Experience:
Five years of full-time satisfactory experience with a major railroad or transit authority installing, repairing and maintaining substation equipment and associated supervisory control equipment; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Desired Skills:
- Able to read and understand track panel/switch sketches and drawings
- Possess excellent communication skills within MOW Department
- Knowledge of Track Construction Operations & Planning (Day & Night)
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments across various subdivisions
- Familiar with word, Excel, Outlook
