This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
 
Responsibilities
 
This position is an on call 24/7 operation. The position is responsible for assisting the Director,
Paratransit Contracts Management in the development, bill preparation, negotiation,
management and control of the Paratransit Division's Transportation contracts.
Ensure contractors meet service goals and adhere to policies and procedures.
Take corrective actions to resolve service problems and improve performance.
Monitor all aspects of contractor operations including personnel hiring, dispatcher and operator
training, DOT vehicle inspection, registration, maintenance and FTA Drug and Alcohol testing
requirements. Ensure vehicle and operator availability for scheduled service.
Manage accounts payable, assist Contracts Director in procuring goods/services, and interface
with upper management. Analyze and prepare reports on the status of contracts in various stages
of development, negotiation, and award.
The position will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the taxi reimbursement program, which entails monitoring a team of several employees and the workflow of taxi reimbursement requests. Also ensures timely payment for reimbursement requests and interacts daily with customers, internal and external entities to respond to and resolve customer inquiries or complaints.
Responsible for working with MTA IT and Project Management Unit on special projects and to develop efficiencies for the program.
Assist internal and external auditors in gathering data for audits.
A valid NY State driver's license is required as the selected candidate may be required to use official vehicles to conduct vendor site visits.
 
Compensation
$81,780-$116,074 (Grade F 516 pts)

Education & Experience 
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field and eight (8) years of full-time related experience, at least three (3) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity.
A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience requirements.
 
Desired Skills 
  • Knowledge of contracting, public procurement, vendor relations.
  • Knowledge of negotiations, project management procedures, auditing and billing procedures and managerial techniques.
  • Familiarity of Information Systems and prior experience on IT special projects a plus.
  • Prior experience managing a diverse workforce and proven customer service skills required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
