COMPENSATION
Salary Range: (Grade D/636): $88,539 (Min) - $139,949 (Max)
UTLO Compression Rate: $139,396
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Superintendents implement strategies or programs to improve safety, training, efficiency and productivity. The selected candidate should be knowledgeable of current collective bargaining agreements and will assume the duties of the General Superintendent in his/her absence. This position is accountable for directing a staff of employees who perform a variety of highly complex repair work, overhaul activities, technical maintenance and administrative activities to ensure the availability, reliability, safety and environmental amenities of a fleet of 350+ subway cars. Additional responsibilities include the management of all shop and yard operations and community relations; the selected incumbent may also be responsible for directing and controlling all on site emergency road response activities. Additionally, may manage the PM duties and responsibilities of the Facilities, Industrial Certification & Investigations unit.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
A High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of related experience, and three (3) years must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity required.
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of Car Equipment operations.
- Knowledge of MTA/NYCT regulations, as well as Car Equipment & Subways policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair and inspection procedures for revenue and work equipment.
- Knowledge of material procurement and distribution inventory control, budget development, quality control standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Car Equipment's complex inventory of assets and the ability to analyze asset data
