Compensation:
Min: $122,958 – Max: $174,059/ Grade A
Responsibilities:
This position will direct and control daily operations, and oversee the performance of a district or unit, in order to provide safe, efficient and cost-effective service. The incumbent will develop and implement various process improvement initiatives to improve safety and proficiency of the workforce, and the customer experience. Selected candidates may be responsible for overseeing the performance of the District Corridor Plans. The selected candidate, regardless of the subdivision, will respond to and/or control departmental operations at major system emergencies or incidents; incumbents may also be responsible for overseeing multiple districts and/or subdivisions on the PM and Midnight tours.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent Degree required and ten (10) years of full-time mass transit experience, and five (5) years in a managerial/supervisory capacity; -OR-
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of rail rapid transit procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of MTA NYCT rules and regulations.
- The ability to manage operational and administrative programs of considerable scope given tight deadlines and adverse conditions.
- Excellent project management skills. Familiarity with new transit technology.
- Familiarity with short term and long-term capital project/budget planning. Sound decision making in emergency situations.
- The ability to motivate staff and resolve conflicts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.Other Information:
