Position Title: Track Project Manager, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate)
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
Railroad Program Support is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, quality, and safety of LIRR In-House Force Account crafts and projects. Our department goal is to manage critical infrastructure assets to maintain operating conditions which include safety, reliability, efficiency, longevity, and customer service.
The intern supports project management tasks by preparing reports, agendas, and meeting minutes, as well as reviewing project billing. They also conduct site visits when needed and work closely with an experienced team member to accomplish both short- and long-term project goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intern to assist in creating, updating, and organizing project documents such as plans, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Intern will help facilitate communication by scheduling meetings and sending out updates.
- Intern will assist in creating and updating project timelines, tracking milestones, and managing deadlines.
- Intern will help with tracking resource allocation and identifying potential resource conflicts.
- Intern will support the manager with risk management by identifying potential risks assisting in developing mitigation strategies.
- Intern will help with tasks related to quality control, ensuring they meet standards, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Interns will assist in tracking progress of projects and reporting on their status.
- Intern will organize project folders and assist with other administrative duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA
- Major(s) Preferred: Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related field.
